Tour Elements

Jefferson Street
It's known as the "Harlem of the South" because of the many R&B artists who frequented the stages there. Jefferson Street - located in the heart of Nashville - allowed performers such as Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix, Ray Charles, Fats Domino and Memphis Slim to tune their craft over the years in its clubs. Today, it's home to the annual Jefferson Street Jazz and Blues Festival. The area has a great community spirit and an inviting family-friendly atmosphere.

United Record Pressing Company
So, you thought the vinyl record was a thing of the past? Not so! During your tour of this landmark vinyl record plant - still operating today - you'll learn how it helped Barry Gordy's Detroit company succeed and become Motown Records. You'll get the sights, sounds, and smells of vinyl records being made and learn about the history of this business and craft. In the 1970s, over a million vinyl records a week were produced in Nashville!

Music Row Studios
We'll take a sidewalk tour of historic studios on Music Row and hear the stories of the greats who recorded there. Music Row is an area just to the southwest of Downtown Nashville, home to hundreds of businesses related to the music industry. The offices of numerous record labels and a number of recording studios are located on Music Row - including the famed RCA Studio B. Many of the biggest names in music over the past 50 years have recorded in these studios - and not just Country Music stars!

The Musicians Hall of Fame
This new Nashville attraction is a one-of-a-kind collection of instruments and musical memorabilia from the country music of the Grand Ole Opry, the English invasion of the Beatles, the freedom days of Dylan & Hendrix, Motown, R&B and much more. The huge names of the music world are joined here by legendary (but not-so-famous to the general public) musicians who helped create the sounds of the biggest names in the business. Admission to the museum is included in this tour.
